WASHINGTON, D.C., February 7, 2025 – Yesterday, representatives from participant organizations in “Pasos de Cambio” (Path towards Change) presented a comprehensive list of military entities, officials, Cuban repressors, and charter agencies recommended for sanctions and/or investigation to State Department officials and members of the U.S. Senate. This follows meetings held last week with members of the Senate to discuss the ongoing situation in Cuba. The list, compiled by various Cuban pro-democracy organizations, seeks to hold accountable those responsible for the criminal dynamics that impoverish the Cuban people, as well as for human rights violations and repression in Cuba.

The document includes:
– Cuban security and military entities linked to repression
– High-ranking Cuban officials overseeing oppressive state operations
– U.S.-based charter companies suspected of circumventing sanctions
– 120 Cuban repressors identified as living in the United States

Rosa María Payá, founder of Cuba Decide, stated: “This list represents a crucial step toward justice and accountability for the Cuban people, as well as the protection of U.S. national interests and security. We urge U.S. officials to act on this information and support the Cuban people’s right to determine their own future through a binding plebiscite, ensuring all conditions and guarantees for a democratic transition are met.”

Alian Collazo, director of Cuban Freedom March, added: “By sharing this comprehensive sanctions list, we aim to shed light on the ongoing repression in Cuba and the individuals and entities enabling it. A free and prosperous Cuba is just around the corner, and we will ensure the calls for liberty of the Cuban people are not silenced.”

Tony Costa, President of the Foundation for Human Rights in Cuba (FHRC), said: “The current administration must urgently investigate the cases reported by FHRC regarding Cuban repressors in the U.S., as their presence poses a significant threat to national security. These individuals have not only lied upon entering the U.S., but in many cases, they may come with an agenda from the Cuban regime to harm U.S. society.”

The “Pasos de Cambio” organizations calls on U.S. authorities to thoroughly investigate the provided information and take appropriate action to avoid benefitting the regime and support democracy and human rights in Cuba.
