As honorable members of the armed forces, they have the power and influence to make a significant difference in the destiny of the Cuban nation. We urge you to act with compassion, empathy and respect towards your compatriots who are exercising their legitimate right to protest. Do not allow repression and violence to be the answer to the legitimate demands of the people.
We call on you to stand on the side of the Cuban people in their search for a change in the political and social system that has enslaved the island of Cuba. We ask you to show your solidarity with the people you swore to protect, and to work alongside them to build a future of freedom, justice and prosperity for all Cubans.
